Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, Armenia has been making the transition between the old order and the new political project that has yet to be achieved. L’inachevé provides a visual investigation of a land immersed in waiting, as if in suspension. The photographed places and scenes show signs of unaccomplished projects and unresolved ideological issues as well as reflecting a cultural environment in search of a new definition. They resemble the scenery for a play that is still to be performed. Rather than documenting the current situation, these photographs are directed towards a history that has yet to be made and towards the land’s prospects for renewal.
