The first of Backlight´s Master Class started in October 2016. 13 students from the Finnish schools offering higher education on photography were invited to participate. The first national course gathered students from the University of Lapland, Lahti University of Applied Sciences, Turku University of Applied Sciences, Tampere University of Applied Sciences and the Tampere University together, to discuss on photography and how to present it, with the lead of photographic artist and researcher Harri Pälviranta. The course will continue in 2017 with two more contact weekends that aim to encourage and strengthen the ability of the new comers nation wide to present their works and enter the field of international portfolio reviews and professionalism from their own raising needs and ambitions.
